In addition to being a Licensed Midwife, I am also a Childbirth Educator, Certified Hypnotherapist, Birth Doula, Placenta Encapsulation provider and Prenatal Massage Therapist. I love what I do!
I am licensed by the Medical Board of California and certified by NARM (North American Registry of Midwives). I graduated from National Midwifery Institute and completed my clinical training in the traditional apprenticeship model learning from some amazing midwives for 4.5 years. I am so honored to do this work, witnessing the strength, courage and deep intuition of all birthing women and their families.
Having worked as an Executive Assistant in the Corporate World for much of my adult life, at the age of 37 I decided to make a change and jumped into the world of birth. I've not once looked back!
In my spare time, I love, love, love to create things. You name it and I probably love to make it – delicious gourmet meals, hand-made jewelry and accessories, mosaics, jams and jellies, yogurt, butter, crochet projects and so much more! I also love a great story and enjoy listening to science-fiction, fantasy and historical fiction audio books while I do crafty projects.
On the home front, I am married to a fabulous guy, Dan Sauter, and I am the mother to a grown son, a vibrant little toddler girl and two naughty kitties, Chirpity and Onyxia.
